thefrogman: Adam Yauch (1964-2012) MCA, founder of the Beastie Boys, passed away after a long battle with cancer. When I was a younger lad, I was not one to move around when music was playing. If I was at a concert I might bob my head or sway from side to side. But then I went to a music festival and the Beastie Boys got up on stage. That crazy distorted bassline from Sabotage started playing and before I knew it, I was jumping around like an idiot. That was the first and only time I was physically possessed by music. Even though I was a bit embarrassed afterward, it is a vivid memory that does not seem to fade. The Beastie Boys were a huge part of my musical upbringing and they still frequent my playlists. Adam was a visionary and made me dance like a monkey.  As is tradition, I am honored to make him a Jedi spirit.  Rest in peace, MCA.
